OK, So I'm a Nascar Fan

Growing up in North Carolina, Nascar was around me all the time and I never thought much of it. If asked, I would never claim to be a fan- it was just not something that interested me and I thought it was for rednecks.

While I still think it's highly attractive to to the redder shades, I have a real interest in stock car racing lately. Maybe it's the North Carolina in me that brings me closer. That, and competition among friends.

I'm a part of a fantasy Nasacar league called Moonshine and Horsepower. The whole thing is built from scratch by Dave Sheets. Every week, we pick the winner and 4 other drivers who we think will finish in the top 5 and a couple of others. This my second season and I've grown to look forward to the races every Sunday.

Living in Seattle, I take pride in my Nascar fandom. As you might imagine, may of the folks I meet here are not so into it and probably think... you can take the boy out of North Carolina, but you can't take the North Carolina out of the boy. Maybe so.

Right now I'm in third place in the league and it's looking like I may move up today. I picked Jeff Gordon to win and he's in first place with 18 laps to go. I better get back to it.

only reason you are in third is the league office has conspired against the general. by not giving me the points i deserved last week just because i did not actually submit my picks, the league office robbed me of a minumum of 25 points. merry christmas, bitch!

I can't believe I'm losing to Blake.... I can't pick a winner to save my hawaiian ass. Watch out though, i'm gettin' a feeling comin' on and it's gonna shoot me to 1st place soon enuff - Git'er done!

mark, i think that feeling you have coming on is called gonorrhea. it feels like a hot streak only its more virulent. you should probably get that checked out. not to mention, be more selective when choosing a new GIRLFRIEND.
