Of Portland, Carnivals and Trains
Last week we went to Portland and I ended up staying for the weekend with a friend and taking the train home. Here's what we saw.
It was Cinco De Mayo and this pinata paid the ultimate price.

Portland had a Cinco De Mayo carnival with all the usual classy prizes.

...And real life carnys, all sporting similar smiles

Scooby is a bit surprised by the rainbow horn to the mouth.

Alas, it wasn't all carnivals. The old streetside horse ties are now part of an art project.

In the end, the train led me back to Seattle. The train trip is certainly better than driving. I'll do it again soon.

Just came over from "The World Is not Flat", so a quick hi.
Are those tiger skins real ? Isnt it illegal to sell something of this kind? Left me speechless when i saw it.
Comment by: pktan May 11, 2007 04:35 AMYes, very tiny mini tigers that are only bred in the Portland area.
Comment by: anthony May 11, 2007 11:43 AMYeah, um, no, those skinz are not real.
Anthony, you kill me man.
Comment by: Lee May 11, 2007 06:09 PMWow - do they really have mini tigers in Oregon! As part of their evolution do they have synthetic fur?
